Mexico City Mexico

Hello.

What do we know about Mexico? Tequila, cacti, corn chips and unshaven guys in sombreros.

But Mexico is much richer compared to one shown in Hollywood movies.

Just have a look at the pictures of these magnificent places Personally, i learned about Mexican architecture of the past thanks to the series of tomb raider games, of and serious sam too! And i was captivated by its beauty and grandeur.

So if you want to see something really amazing cast an eye on these magnificent constructions.

Teotihuacan is a Mesoamerican city, the entire complex of pyramids.

Apart from the Pyramid of the Sun, the complex includes also the Pyramid of the Moon, the Avenue of the Dead and lots of ritual constructions.

Another impressive ancient city is Palenque.

It’s smaller than for example Tikal or Copan, but it contains architecture, sculpture, roof comb and bas-relief carvings that were produced by the Mayas.

There are hundreds of constructions found at this moment, but it is just the center of the city.

The rest was absorbed by the jungle.

And yet, many found monuments contain the history of Palenque written in hieroglyphic inscriptions.

Palenque was discovered in 1773 and in 1840th John Stephens, a lawyer from New York bought those lands you are never going to guess.

For 50 dollars.

Pretty good deal, don’t you think? Uxmal is an enormous architectural complex.

Its biggest pyramid is the pyramid of the magician.

And at the same time it’s the biggest pyramid constructed by the Mayas.

The pyramid got its name because of a legend that it was built in one night by the magic of the dwarf king.

There are lots of other sites that you can read about.

Such cities as Tikal, Chichen Itza, Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and many more.
