Sportsmen’s Lodge Hotel (Studio City)
Situated in the heart of Studio City, The Sportsmen’s Lodge (www.slhotel.com) has been a landmark since it first opened back in the late 1800s. Its hallowed halls have seen the likes of Clark Gable and other stars of bygone eras, like Humphrey Bogart and Bette Davis. Many of these silver screen icons came to the trout-fishing lake on the property to catch fish which would then be cooked up right there so they could stay and eat their dinner. Robert Kennedy famously stayed on the 5th floor of the hotel on the night that preceded his assassination. The modern hotel was built on the property adjacent to the hotel in 1962. The walls of the café are lined with a photographic memory book of movie posters signed by many of the celebrities who stayed there.
